I know what you’re referring to and I agree. Since I’m almost exactly average height, I stand on the brink of unacceptability for many women. Occasionally they’ve pushed me into the chasm, yelling “too short” on the way down. (This is fine by the way, honesty is good policy.)
I have a theory that the harsh requirements people use on dating sites are a reflection of the fact that people know they can fall in love with impoverished people or shorter stature but don’t want to. If you know that you’ll be attracted to a small percentage of any large group of the opposite sex, it makes sense to pre-vet the pool to make sure that your brain has a say in your heart’s irrational selection.
