I love Tinder! It’s very clear from my journey through that world that some women are exactly as hyper-competitive and status-conscious as Peterson describes. There does seem to be a correlation between being at the top of one’s profession, in tremendous physical shape, and wanting to marry a doctor. (A “real” doctor not a Ph.D.) Additionally, some people aren’t looking for love at the moment and just want the financial advantages of being with somebody wealthy. My complaint is that Jordan occasionally seems to hold up the “financially conscious” success driven woman as the mythic equivalent of the “heroic male” archetype. Mythologically speaking, the archetypal heroine is much more likely to say “Not so fast mom and dad, I’m marrying for love!”.
A clean room and an improved financial situation will definitely improve your dating chances. On Tinder, and probably on Grindr too.
