If you think the commercial was a socially productive work of art I can only assume the problem was with my lack of taste. I think most commentators saw the add as insulting rather than exploiting insecurities. Perhaps a better equivalent would be a serial add that told women, “smile more and stop complaining so much! Otherwise you don’t deserve to eat any serial.” That would not be a good slogan for any serial no matter how high the fiber content!
